Hey! I need some advice. I feel stuck and don't know what to do. Me and my swedish boyfriend have been together for just over 9 months and we love eachother. We have future plans to get engaged. I'm now 6 weeks pregnant. Now the problem is, I don't want to stay in Sweden. I want to move to an english speaking country since I'm from Australasia. My partner doesn't really want to move overseas which makes me really worried because when I'm still stuck here with a baby I'm literally stuck because I won't be able to move unless my partner comes with me. What do you guys think? Thank you. Any advice appreciated. PS I can't stand the thought of living here forever unwillingly!!

Hi,
I'm not sure if I have much advice to offer you I'm afraid, but I was hoping you could help me.
I'm from Australasia too and am considering moving to Sweden - what is it like compared to "down under"? I have read and heard that Swedish people can be racist to non-Swedes.
Why don't you like it there?

Hi. I'm from the UK and moved to Sweden 7 years ago. I don't know too much about your situation but I know that I had similar feelings (perhaps not as strong as yours) about staying here as well. I gave it time though and decided to learn the language and here I am 7 years later!
I can understand that you're feeling a little trapped but maybe give it some more time and try to make a go of it for now. Learning the language is a big step but you will feel more confident in the ling run.
Please get back to me if you have any questions.
John

Sweden is really different compared to Australia. For a first, the weather is more horrible than nice. Freezing cold for about half of the year or probably more. The culture is so different and people behave differently (all part of culture shock i guess). You´d have to be here for a few months and experience it yourself to make your own judgement. The first half year was no problem but after that the ´honey moon period´ of moving left and you get homesickness as a result. Everyones experience is different so if you´re planning on moving here, why not, every new experience is worth it.
