" I am trying to evaluate my expat package recently received for moving to Zurich. Can someone provide an approximate rental cost (range) for a 2 bedroom apartment in the city center of Zurich? My Firm has approximated a CHF 2700/month rent, however, I believe it to be somewhat more. Any help or resources would be greatly appreciated. "

" Hi Raffi, Try www.immopool.ch. Have new listings emailed to you (watch upper right corner for a subscription link as you move through the screens). Looking at the site just now, I see most apts. listed there for less than 2000 francs per month. At 2700, your firm is being generous. Do you get to keep the difference? To snag an apartment, you have to be fast. Call as soon as you can when you become aware of new listings. The unoccupancy rate (is that the right word?) is very low right now, and getting worse. You kind of have to be here though (I wouldn''t just accept an apt without seeing it first). If your permit allows, find a place in a different Kanton with a good train connection (Rafz, Lenzburg, etc.). You''ll get a better deal, and the commute time will still be the same (eg, 20 minutes out). ''Luck Yves "

Dear Raffi Give a call to Le Concierge in Zug. They have a lot of inside connections and are great for giving advice. Their number is 0901 555 056. Good luck Nicki
