The Swiss taxation department sent me a spreadsheet detailing taxes and deductions fro 4 municipalities in the Canton of Zurich as well as Zug. With this information I know almost to the dollar what my taxes would be in Zurich and Zug.

" Hi Steve, Thanks for sharing the info. So, are there any obvious, poke-you-in-the-eye conclusions you can make about where to live based on tax advantages? (e.g, I''ve always wondered whether it was worth it to move to Zug for supposedly lower tax rates.) Also, what was the phone # for the Swiss taxation dept.? Did they speak English? Thanks, Yves "

" Yves Check out the archive. We have discussed this fairly well and have references to web sites. You save 10% if you live in Zug over Zurich for all monies earned over chf200,000. Less under this amount, but you it would still be significant. A full abonnement train card would cost about chf3,000 so all travel would then be free. The hassle of the travel times is the next issue, versus the savings. Regards Allan "
