" John, as far as I could find out you can ship it (anywher between $1000 to $3000). Once in Switzerland, if you do have your official domicile there, you have to officially import it. If the car has been in you possession at least 6 months PRIOR to your residence permit in Switzerland, you are allowed to import it for free. Once imported thru customs, you have 1yr time form the date of your official residence in Switzerland to licence it with a Swiss plate. If the car HAD not been in your possession for at least 6 months, you can still do it, but you will have to pay import duties of appr. 7% on the value of the car (as decided by custom). As far as driving in Europe with a US registered car, Insurance Underwrites (AIG) provides a special coverage for US cars abroad Hope it helps "
