We''ll be moving to Switzerland in a few months and was wondering if Switzerland offers any kind of national medical insurance to non-swiss residents (yes we would pay). Thanks Vaughn vaughn@sgstrading.com

" Hi there, We''re still struggling through our health insurance.. and we''ve been here a year! It turns out the provider we chose to go with isn''t recognized with the Swiss Government so we''re in the process of changing to another. My husband''s company has recommended SWICA. But I can''t really recommend them not having had any experience with them as of yet. I saw your other post concerning registering a car.. i''m not sure about that. However I would recommend that you pick up the book ""Living and Working In Switzerland"" by David Hampshire.. it has all kinds of info about the ""details"". It''s really helped us. Goodluck & enjoy Switzerland. It''s a beautiful country. Catherine "

" Catherine: Thanks so much for your reply. I''ve ordered the book from Amazon.com, but it will be used as the last print date was 1997--hopefully the reg''s etc. haven''t changed too much. Let me know if you get any more information on the medical side. Vaughn "
