Hello, folks! We are moving to Lugano in December for work and would really appreciate any tips or thoughts you might be able to offer very new residents - where to eat, shop, things we must do - any ideas will be much appreciated. We have a house to live in but know no-one!!

Hi!
I'm contemplating a move to Lugano from Finland in August-September this year or if all else fails the very latest in December.
I'm actually looking for a school where I could study at first while I brush up my almost non-existant italian skills. I'm having quite hard time organizing everything and trying to work out all the details of moving abroad. I'm sure you know very well what I'm talking about.
My fiancé lives in Lugano and I would be moving there to live with him. I have two kids from a previous relationship, so that complicates things a little. We'll have a house in the beginning of June and I'll be arriving to Lugano in mid-June to stay and organize things. My kids will arrive 2 weeks later with my mother to stay for a while. Nothing except the house is sure yet.
I'd be very interested in getting to know other expats as well as locals of course. I know no-one except my fiancé and he too has moved there 4 years ago and doesn't know that many people. Maybe we could meet up while I'm there in the summer and you could give me your tips as someone whose been there :D

Does your Italian need improvement? Are you interested in taking private Italian lessons from a native speaker from Lugano?
