" Mr. Bourmes: You may already indeed be in Taipei and/or have all the advice you need, but I''m happy to try and answer your questions if you wish. I live in Taipei at the moment and my wife teaches at TAS. We raised our own high schoolers here and we lived in Tienmu (expatriate community immediately around the school) for nine years so we know the area well. If you still need information, why not drop me a line with questions. In the meantime, few realtors are running ads at the moment because it is Chinese New Year here but the China Post will resume its regular classifieds around Feb 8th and there is one particular realtor (named Leo!) whom we dealt with and were satisfied with. In the meantime, this publications and URLs may interest your family as they prepare to come here. http://www.tas.edu.tw [TAS Homepage] http://publish.gio.gov.tw/FCR/doc/review-frame.html [Taipei Times (magazine-monthly) formerly Free China Review] http://www.community.com.tw/ [excellent resource for courses, information, friendships and services to families] http://www.community.com.tw/publications.html [copies of this publication will be available from expat families who have a copy and it is very helpful] http://www.community.com.tw/shock_horrors.html [a samole of the kind of articles on the Community Service Center site] More later...welcome to Taipei!
