Hello ExpatExchange.com Members!

One area of interest for many expatriates is the need for assistance in
settling in and the management of culture shock. In order to identify
the information most needed by expats as they adapt to international
living, we'd like to know the biggest hurdles you faced in the process
of moving overseas.

Please help us in this project by answering these few questions:

When you moved to Tanzania, what was the most difficult part of settling
in there?

How much difficulty did you have with culture shock in Tanzania?

What would be the best, single piece of advice you'd give to an expat
(or soon to be expat) in Tanzania?

Hi

Dealing with real estate agents I think would be quite useful. Some of them are really professional trying to match what they have as readily available to what you are looking for. Others are just there for a quick buck: asking you to pay for their transport so that they can show you the flats, using your phone to make calls etc. In Tanzania it's only the sellers or the landlords that pay a commission to the real estate agent. No fee to be paid by the tenant or buyer
