We are relocating to Dar next month with a soon to be kindergarten child. We have always intended to home school but are finding information about doing this in Dar to be hard to come by. Anyone on this forum have any information/advice/experience that would be helpful?

Where are you guys coming from? I looked into the home schooling option before deciding on private school. In my case, I was going to use to cirriculum outlined in our schools in Canada and was able to submit projects etc... online to achieve formal completion of each grade level. That way, my children would also be recognized as having Canadian schooling. I think I have decided to send them to school there, though, not only because I plan on working but also because I wanted them to make friends and be more involved with the local culture and community.

We are coming form the USA. We will be in Dar on March 30. Like you we are looking at curriculum from here that will give him a formal US Education. My days off are monday and tuesday which means little time with our son on weekends, he will be five in May. I think with friends and people from church we will be able to provide enough socializing and cultural interaction. We are interested in finding out if there are other formal opportunities for socializing. We have not had any luck investigating Tanzania Boy Scouts. Do you know of any kids clubs or other club of this type?
