" I was really shocked to read such a scathing report on Bangkok by this guy who obviously has not spent much time here. Bangkok is a wonderful city, culturally diverse with fabulous shopping, great medical care and a multitude of great restaurants and a bustling nightlife. The expat community here which is very large, generally loves the place and many an expat has cried big tears when informed they are leaving. Housing is great for expats ( I have never met anyone whose home has been robbed)there are millions of things to do with children ( zoos, indoor play parks, swimming lessons, ballet lessons, etc.)and a wide variety of international schools to choose from. Sure there is pollution ( what city in Asia is not polluted except manybe Singapore?) and there is petty crime (it is a very poor country) but in two years I have not experienced any of that and I drive myself, take the skytrain (great, fast, and clean)and taxis. For women who would not love a place where you can get a manicure, pedicure and leg was for <US$10! A full aromathereapy body massage for US$10. A full time live in maid will cost about $200 per month - life is beautiful here! Love it, love it, love it, "
