I don't know of any Thai-Western schools. You children will probably need to attend an International school. If your kids are not shy and smile a lot they will not have any trouble meeting Thais their own age, especially ones who want to learn or practice English. I lived in Thailand for 12 years and made acquaintences by offering to trade English for Thai lessons. The Thais are very friendly and harbor no resentments towards Westerners in general An international school near your husband's work is the Internatioin School of Bangkok (ISB). Check out the website www.isb.ac.th for details. You will have no problem finding accommodations near your husband's work, Bangkok has a glut of vacant apartments. You may want to investigate health insurance for your family as well. Blue Cross is available in Thailand and since the hospital costs are so reasonable, so is the premium. One American family I know pay less than $100 a year for coverage for the parents and two kids.
