hi all,
I am looking at retiring soon and moving from Australia to Chaing Mai. I have heard there are quite a few Australians living there. I would be looking at purchasing an apartment or condo. I would like to know what area's that most expat live in .

I don't live in Chiangmai, maybe someone else can provide some info, but if not, visit the Thaivisa.com Chiangmai forum and you will find expats who lives there who should be able to help.

I have lived in Chiang Mai for quite awhile and the area I'm in San Sai is about 15 mins from downtown and a ton of Aussie expats here and quite a few Aussie expat bars. Condo's are quite a bit cheaper here and I know of a few in my building which have a few Aussies that start as low as 260,000 baht unfurnished to 400 furnished which is quite a bit cheaper than downtown and really I hardly ever go downtown as everything we need is close by.....give me an email at primepeat@yahoo.com if you want some more info
