100,000 baht/month income....or 3 million baht in the bank for a year....PER PERSON ? So, my wife and I need double that, which right now would be roughly $5600/monthy or $170,000 in a Thai bank ? Really ??? So, visa runs ???

It's per couple. Single also req'd same amount.
Usually can't get retirement visa once in Thailand. Many go to Vientenne. Documents must be notarized usually by embassy, I believe lawyer can also.
