" Re Nottingham enquiry. Don''t know about cats, but we brought our dog from Canada last year. Had to have all ""up to date"" shots and all vet paper re innoculations. If you need to leave your cat at a kennel, I don''t know requirements but for a dog it has to have a Pet Passport issued by Dutch vet clinic. Certain shots are required, and have to be administered within a strick timeframe before leaving your pet at kennel. Again, don''t know if this is the same for cats. Hope this is somewhat helpful Terry Cameron - The Hague "

" Hi! My husband and I are moving to Prague in April with our two cats. You need to check with customs in the Netherlands and see their regulations. We had hoped to move to Holland, but working papers are not easy to get, so we are going to teach English in Prague. All we need for The Czech Republic, and I think the Netherlands as well. Is a certificate of health, a recent immunization record. At least one month, but no more than 12 months prior to departure. The regulations for flying them are strict. We are going with KLM (A Dutch airline) They have the best reputation for flying animals. They have a pressurized hull and a Vet checks the pet in Amsterdam. The cost is reasonable to fly with KLM also. Make sure that you buy a carrier for your cat from the airline. Or if you want to fly with them under your seat, you can fly United. United lets you fly with a cat under the seat. Hope this info. was helpful. Samantha Hayes. "

" Hi. I moved to the Hague last year from LA, CA and I brought both a dog and cat with me. It was much easier than I expected to bring my animals. I did have to go the vet and get a Heatlh Certificate for both animals and they must be vacinated within 10 days of your departure. Also, you need to have the vacation info: type & batch # (your vet will have this for you). All of this informaion is available on the US Embassy website. I also advise you to bring your ALL your pets records. In the event they need to see a vet here, that will help them give your pet the best care. The last advice I have for you in regards to your cat, is to be aware that Holland is a very dense country and if your cat goes outside now, more than likely, you will need to keep the cat inside or run the risk of the animal being killed by a car. My cat was an outside cat for 7 years before moving here, and he has adjusted very well to being an ""inside"" cat now. Good luck. "
