" Hello Everyone! I''m a Dutch Born in Venezuela, with Dutch passport, I''m thinking on going to the Netherlands to live, Venezuela has become a country where life has no meaning. Maybe you can help me, I was looking for information on how to get there, where to find a job and if there where some initial help from the government to settle in, I mean Social assistance for unemployment. I''ll be taking some money but I don''t know how much will I spend and how long will it take to find a job, I would like it very much if you can help me, sadly I don''t speak any Dutch, but my English and my Spanish are pretty good. I''ve been trying hard to find a place on the internet that would help me but they talk about what to do when you are from another country, and nothing for the Nationals, and I think it''s different of what I have to do, I found ACCESS and a lady sent me some information but as I told you before, for visitors. The sites I''ve found are in Dutch and I can''t find a translator to help me either, so you see I''m kind of desperate, so if you help me would be just great. I thank you all in advance for your help! Juan C. De Wekker B. "

" Hi there I''ve had a look at www.denhaag.nl (I live in Den Haag) but it''s very vague as to what you need to do. Do you have Venezuelan nationality only or do you have both? If you will be living in the Randstad there are plenty of jobs requiring other languages than Dutch, I can give you several different websites to go to when you get to that point. My suggestion would be to give them a call - I know you have a big time difference but perhaps a simple phone call would help get you all the information you need. Telephone +31 70 353 3190 (or 91 or 86) Good luck! Renee "

" Hello Renee, Thank you very much for your reply, yes I have both Nationalities, well my plans were to go first to Amsterdam and see what happens, but I''ll go were the work is, so I''m not close to suggestions or places. I''ll do as you say, thank you again for your help JCW "

" Hi expats, Life has been very busy and I suddenly realized that I hadn''t received posts in quite a long time. Had to go thru a search engine to relocate this site and re-register. I initially thought we were cancelled off the list (remember the previous threat?) because I couldn''t find us but was thrown off track because of them alphabetizing us with ""the"" in front of Netherlands, but persistance pays off. Did anybody else have similar problems? and I''m wondering if they lost a number of other folks due to this change. I know Julia will have an answer for me as she seems to be our sites ""yoda"". glad-to-be-back, terri "
