Does anyone know how long a non-Dutch employee (in my case British) can claim the 30% Regeling for being a foreign worker in the Netherlands? I thought is was renewable every five years. Can anyone confirm?

" Hi - I''ve just being granted this tax break and it is for a maximum of 60 months (used to be 10 years, has been reduced with the introduction of the 30% ruling). Good luck! Helen "

" As far as I know, (and the Dutch Ministry of finance <a href=""http://www.minfin.nl/uk/taxation/taxneth/44.htm""> webpage on the matter</a> confirms it), the ruling is for a maximum of 120 months but must be reapplied for after 60 months. The new rules (including the reduction from 35% to 30%) are less advantageous for the expat, although they still represent a significant tax saving. "

" Interesting.....as you say, their webpage and the letter they sent me both state 120 months with renewal after 60. However the forms I submitted did most definitely (cos I am looking at them right now!) say 60 months maximum. Not that I''m complaining, you understand :-) "

Thanks all. I guess I can dismiss the guy who said it ran for just 2 years. We are currently in dispute over pay with our employer and I''m just checking that they weren''t trying to pull a fast one. Thanks again.
