" I was trying to find information about the closest Walmart (in Germany) to the Netherlands. I know last year there were lots of messages about it on this website. I can''t find any of the messages anymore. Does anyone know where the closest Walmart would be and directions? (the previous messages had said it was hard to find) Thanks, Dianne "

" Where would you be driving from in the Netherlands? I can give you directions to Aken if you are coming from southern Netherlands and it is very easy. But if you are north I also remember that there would be a number of stores closer. On my last visit there, I purchased clorox bleach, proctor & gamble (tide) laundry detergent (large box for cheap price), maple syrup, pancake mix, miracle whip, velveeta cheese, and I always go to the next door drinkmart and buy the ""original"" Budweiser beer from the czech republic. Sometimes they have an actual section labeled ""American Product"" but not always. I think it''s by chance for certain items are in stock all the time; such as miracle whip, bleach, velveeta cheese, and the vizir (alias tide) laundry detergent. "

It was not hard to find. It did NOT, however, have American products. There were 3-4 at best. It DID have great quantities and better selection. It was fun, and I would recommend it as a day trip. They close at 4 on Saturdays. As soon as I find it, I''ll post the street address, which we found easily by purchasing a cheap gas station map on the outskirts of town.
