How concerned about the Swine Flu are people in Netherlands? Are you and/or your family members planning to get the H1N1 vaccine or have you already received it? Is it readily available? Not yet available? We would appreciate your input about the current situation in Netherlands.

Hi,

I have seen some posters around, in the airport, doctor's surgeries and pharmacies, but there is a refreshing lack of hysteria here, compared to the UK (and I am guessing the US too?). As far as I am aware, its not mentioned on the media that much either.

I just came back from the UK, my 11yr old neice has just got rid of it in the last couple of weeks; its the flu, quite an unpleasant one, but really no big deal.

Tamiflu is available (apparently called oseltamivir) so they are aware of it.

Thankfully, they don't go for mass hysteria here very much, just get yourself registered with a doctor when you arrive, and if you're feeling poorly for more than a few days go and see him and all will be well. :)

Cheers
Jim
