I need some information

I am an American expat lady... age 60...and I want to move to the Netherlands and begin my own self-employment. Yes, I know I can live there for 90 days with no problem...but at my age...I can't imagine any company hiring me to give me a reason for residency. I am an English teacher with more than 6 years of experience...and want to tutor privately. How can I do this without spending a fortune? I've looked at many sites online and they all say I must have residency...learn the language and integrate. I have no clue about Dutch... I speak English and Spanish...and just enough French to get by. Any helpful information is greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!

To live in The Netherlands you do indeed need to learn Dutch and do what is calles an 'inburgeringscursus'...it's not as easy as it was anymore :-(.
I'm not sure about the rules for being self-employed as a foreigner in The Netherlands.

Kind regards, Dutchie

Immigration told me that if "self-employed" and 4000 euros + in an NL account I could possibly stay 2 years. I need to be registered and will be a taxpayer.

That would be great...it's a lot easier for you to immigrate to NL than for me as a Dutchie to immigrate to the US haha

Hi, hoe gaat het ? Im a dutch national living abroad !so you wanna come And find work as a private english teacher sorry to say first of all Also in holland there is lots of unemployment even among young licensed teachers and then being 60 years old with just little experience I believe you won't be granted a working - visa and indeed you need to learn Dutch it's always better for your chances but if your country would be member of eu it's quite easy to come and live in the Netherlands ! You said your Spanish is great so why not try south -America a place like Belize they have lots of stuff for older people ! Good luck veel succes

Dutchie is correct. Im starting to look into Central even South America. I have experience speaking Spanish having been an exchange student in Bolivia 40 years ago.

4000 euros a month or just 4000 euros? If is just 4000 that is not a bad way to do it. Did imigration in US or NL tell you to do thst? I would like to know more as I want to return to NL to live. I am a self employed American with permanent British residency and could bot get a 2 year visa when I was there in 2013.
