There are many places that are safe, but alot of them are gated communities.. townhouses, apartments, etc.

I am a Real Estate Agent, so if you are deciding to move to Trinidad and would like help finding a suitable living accommodation, feel free to contact me.

Trinidad is like any place, yes there are certain areas you should avoid and of course be aware of your surroundings. There are also gated communities which are safe. You can try the local newspapers- trinidadexpress.com & guardian.co.tt. I would suggest Westmoorings, Maraval, Trincity, Valsayn, Newtown or St. Clair.

I can help you out if you like. Just give me how much is your budget, and how long you plan on staying in the country.

I am considering a job in Trinidad around the San Fernando area. I am a single man around 50. I am looking for a safe area. I would like to get a two bedroom apartment or townhouse in a gated community. Can you give me a good area to live and and how much it would cost.

Thanks

Brian,

Try Gulf View or Palmiste in Sando area.
Prices vary depending on whether you are buying or renting. There are a number of developments to the north of Sando that might have what you want. Try the website www.sipreal.com for actual listings. The guy who owns it is an expat himself and quite helpful if you send him an email - Ron Drappier is the name.
