Work visa for the self-employed vs. relocation to TNT

HEllo,

I am moving to Trinidad next year but so far, the responses to my inquiries from the Consulates and Embassies have been less than welcome.

Since I am self-employed (I am a writer and have published bookos), applying for a work visa is irrelevant. Yet one is required and the consulate told me that I can't just up adn move to Trinidad because I feel like it, and expect residency to be granted. I would need ties in TNT (e.g. job, husband, children, etc).

They also told me that IF the NAtional Ministry of Security deemed me worthy of staying in TNT, I would need to put up an $11,000 US security bond.

How do expatriates do it that have no actual ties there? Do you just go for a visit and never leave?

Thank you for your assistance.

I know someone (also a writer like yourself) who moved to trinidad and just never left. He makes a very good living writing for online magazines and public relations for music artistes all from the comfort of his fully furnished air conditioned apartment here in trinidad.
He's been here now about 3-4 years and i dont think he plans on leaving.

Let me know if i can be of assistance to you. My company provides help for foreigners setting up businesses in trinidad and tobago. You may reach me at 721.1336
regards

Hi

We are a Singapore based business and would like to set up a Company in Trinidad and also send employees to work . I understand your Company handles Company Formation. Would appreciate if you could get back to me on the procedure for Company formation as well as immigration requirements for a work permit for Indian citizens.

Regards

RJ

Hi there

this link...

http://nationalsecurity.gov.tt/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=31&Itemid=50 gives information on applying for a work permit.

This one -

http://gov.tt/Egov/Portal/citizen/service.aspx?id={AC6FE174-18B8-4E5C-9EE5-6DECAFA28727}

gives info on registering a business here in Trinidad. They are both Trinidad & Tobago official government websites.

My company can handle both aspects for you: registering the business and applying for work permits.

You may email me at sos@wow.net or ylivingstone@hotmail.com or call me at 868.721.1336 for further information on my services.

I look foward to hearing from you.
