In Trinidad for 3 month

I'm in Trinidad for three months on tourist visa - visiting my dad's distant relatives.
This is my first trip to Trinidad.

What are some things to do in trinidad? Are there any organized camping trips for tourists?

Also I was wondering if there are any volunteer works available here?

Your dad's relatives should be able to advise you, if not, read this Trip Advisor forum for TnT.

When do you arrive? Where are you from and what is your age? Maracas beach and a couple of beaches just past it are great- Tobago has the nicest beaches and it is only a 20 min flight for $50 US round trip!) and there is great hiking if you want to google hiking clubs here and adventure stuff to do but we have used this company beforehttps://www.facebook.com/adventureseekerstt

We went to the Gasparee caves which is on an island 15 mins from Trinidad and went swimming in the cave with stalactites and stagalmites all around and it is stunning. I would definitely do that. We also did the swamp tour which was cool (especially if you take a small cooler with a bottle of wine), and you should definitely go see the turtles! They are on the north coast right now which is about 2 1/2 hrs drive or so but totally worth it. And right now you can still see the big mother turtles paying eggs and also babies hatching...it is amazing. Also Yerette for the hummingbird experience (everything here has a Facebook page) and people like Asa Wright nature trails but I have not been yet. In general it is not safe to go camping on your own, but there are two private properties here where they have camping facilities on their property and we are dying to go and take our kids- our friends have recommended them, so I can let you know when I find out. And I will PM you about volunteering- my husband's company has a list we work with and she said she is happy for you to email her about them, depending on what your skills are and what you like to do.
