Moving soon with kids

We are moving to Port of Spain, from the US, soon with our 3 kids. We are able to bring a lot of things we feel we need with us, but I'm curious about what everyone would bring if they could? We obvioulsly don't want to spend more money for something in Trinidad if we can bring it so are trying to prepare. We'd like to bring our bikes, pool and swim toys, and I guess a ton of summer clothes? What else?....

Furniture, rugs (I wish we had brought an outdoor rug because the tile outside is slippery when wet), linens, kids toys & outdoor play structures, organizational stuff (storage bins, drawer organizers, etc), beach gear, boogie boards, etc, beach chairs & umbrella...

How old are your kids? We have a Facebook group of expat moms here if you want to join....PM me.

Definitely bring home decor for the way you want your new house to look. Rugs, pictures, decorative pillows and very expensive. Diffusers and scented candles are very expensive here also. Bring your kitchen items, dish towels, and small appliances also. Things I wish i had brought more of: nice, quality rugs. They are outrageous here. You can't buy Saltine crackers either... Food is expensive, but you will save money because there isn't much else to spend it on in Trinidad.

I will be moving to Trinidad in June with my husband and 2 children (aged 13 and 11). I believe there is a facebook group for Expat mums in the area - could someone let me know how to join?

Hi Mandy, what is the email address associated with your Facebook account? Then she will be able to look you up.

My good friend just moved to Aberdeen by the way! Horrible weather lately!
