Apartments in Trinidad?

Hey guys,

I'm moving to Trinidad in a few weeks and had a few questions relating to apartments. My budget is between $800 and $1000 US. I'm looking to get something very safe and furnished. It's just me so a 1 bedroom is fine, although my preference is a 2 bedroom (for when friends visit). Do you think this can work? Please let me know your thoughts.

I'm copying my answer to another expat with the same question.

It depends on the area. The northwest is the safest, offers the best of everything and is the most diverse. As such, it is also the most expensive.

Fairways and Westmoorings are popular with expats. The median rental for a one-bedroom flat in either area is US $1,500 pcm. The median rental for a two-bedroom townhouse is US $3,000. A four-bedroom detached in these areas is about US $6,000 pcm.

You can check out Terra Caribbean and Galt Real Estate. They're the best agencies, IMHO.
