" hi Alan, I am from Ankara. I have been away from there for almost 10 years now so my knowledge is not that fresh. I don''t personally know any western practise physicans living and working in Ankara, but my guess is yes ther would be some. There are some international hospitals like the American hospital, also private hospitals like Bayindir, Baskent and Sevgi may be able to accommodate foreign national physicans. There is a state health insurance system in Turkey but it is insufficient. Queues are enormous usually, so, often people go to private practices. The climate of Ankara may not suit everybody. It is more like mild desert climate in that the air is very dry. It gets hot in the summer usually above 30 (celsius). Is there much greenery... Yes there is some, a few parks in Cankaya, Dikmen, Gaziosmanpasa, small lakes in the surrounds like golbasi, Cubuk etc. But it is hard to find leafy streets unless you go to certain areas like GaziOsmanpasa and Cankaya. I think there is enough greenery but it depends on your standards of course. I live in England at the moment and find Ankara green enough. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have other questions. regards "
