I've always been a huge cat lover and have lived with cats all my life. Just moved to Istanbul and will be spending the next year at least here. I am looking to adopt two British Shorthair kittens. Preferably a male and a female. Would appreciate any help in that regard.
Thank you

Hi my wife advises that this type of cats are very rare in Turkey and normally only found in petshops. She also says they are very expensive.
Good luck in your search.

Hi there!
I'd strongly advise against purchasing animals in Turkey, especially ?stanbul.
Turkey has a terrible animals welfare record, and as such, most breeders and animal providers will not export to Turkey. In turn this results in a small gene pool for the breed-specific animals available in Turkey, and many many health problems.
My suggestion is that you do what my wife and I did; find a kitten that looks sufficiently poorly and adopt it. You'll save a life for free, and the reward will be endless love and affection for eternity (we promise this last part from experience).
All the best!

Thank u for what sounds like expert advice.
Originally that's exactly what I wanted to do. I contacted a shelter and was looking at one specific litter. Then I saw a program on Animal Planet about BSH cats and fell head over heels in love with them. I'm trying to adopt/buy a brother and sister pair.
I will take ur advice to heart though and we'll see what happens.
Thanks again
