If buying a resale apartment here, one should be aware of the following.

In some areas old apartments, which do not comply to laws related to earthquakes are being demolished and rebuilt. Some apartment blocks are just updated to comply with current regulations. These include exterior insulation, which can be quite expensive. Please note these costs are shared among those owning an apartment. in the block effected.
