Hey there, I have actually done a lot of research on the Middle East and Persia, including Turkmenistan. Turkmenistan has amazing scenery and good people, but you must remember a few things before moving there. First, it is a former Soviet Satellite State, meaning that poverty is a problem along with some different politics. It is not as financially prosperous and lacks the professional opportunity that your home country has. Second, human rights abuses, though banned in the Constitution of Turkmenistan, is rampant. The last President, Saparmyrat Niazov, built a "cult-like" environment around his presidency. Also remember that Turkmenistan is an arid, hot place with temperatures ranging as high as 113 degrees ferenheit during the summer. However, despite these drawbacks, there will be upsides to living in Turkmenistan. It is a quiet country not engaged in hardly any international conflict and has amazing scenery. If you are sure about moving to Turkmenistan, I wish you lots of luck and happiness while you are there. All the best to you! -Sean
