Shipping possessions, then getting them

Has anyone had trouble shipping personal items into Uganda? I shipped 2 groups of boxes, one arriving in Aug and the other in Sept. I still cannot get them. Should I have them shipped back to the states to my daughters' and forget it or where can I go to get them released? It is all old things I had at the old house...I mean really, I bought the pots and pans in 1974... Anyone else had trouble? I filled out an EIN form and here a TIN form....Any information will be great. I just didn't want to have to replace things I already had...but it looks like I will have to... Thank you for your help.

Hi.
first yu didn't mention for what reason your possessions have not arrived..whether its a customs clearance issue or shipping company...I have shipped items before but you supposed to get a notification that your items have arrived at for example entebbe customs office..then you go there and sort it out from there.or sometimes items are misplaced by the shipping company..

Bollare keeps wanting receipts for the things, but some are 40 years old, also family photos and old books, research papers, etc. I have a TIN and filled out EIN forms on both shipments. I am not sure where the boxes are...they have never told me any real useful information, other than saying they were in Kenya, then headed for the border, then that they are here in Kampala ...somewhere. Now the latest email is that I am supposed to go to their office, and bring what ever I have (that I have sent them 3 times) plus the passport, which is currently at Immigration for the work permit. I should have just donated it all to goodwill/salvation army...haha. Thanks for the response.

Do that..go to bollore physically..in uganda nothing can ever be done on emails..trust me yul figure out a solution..but am stilll confused about your shipping method..bse I know once yu ship an item there must be a bill of lading showin where and what time your items will arrive at a certain point of pickup. Or if you use usps or dhl still you know wea ur item is at a certain time and atleast they r accountable.
cheers
