It depends where you are going to live, as each city is different. I'll assume that you're going to Kampala, and it's a good place. It has some crime, lots of traffic jams, but the weather is good, not too hot, not cold, with lots of rain. Kampala has several shopping malls where you can find grocery stores that carry most anything. The biggest complaint that I hear from other expats in Uganda is the corruption and the frustration of how slow and poorly things are ran. Hi, being SWF I would suggest caution moving at night if in KPA, esp. If alone. As with all cities, there's safe & dodgy areas. My wife & I have lived in Ug for 7yrs, no problems we live outside of kpa as quieter. If you have specific q's you can email me on shaun_in_uganda@yahoo.com, am also on whatsapp. To give sound advice knowing you area of work / residence would be helpful. Kololo is the expensive area, Ntinda popular with whites, but noisy in places. I assume you'll be at an international school.
