" Hi, My name is Sue and my family and I will be moving to Dubai in August. Our daughter who is 14 will be beginning ninth grade. I am looking for any recommendations/information on schools. I tried to contact schools there directly this summer, but all of them were closed. Any comments on the benefits of an international school vs. an American school would be greatly appreciated. I am also looking for information about transportation in Dubai. It is my understanding that I may not be able to obtain a driver''s license for about a month. hi. pretty sure you are right about having to wait about a month to get a drivers license. my husband has been there for months and says the taxis are extremely cheap. so you should be able to manage for a month. other than the american school i have heard many good things about the choeufat (sp?) schools as well. just check out this page and there are many good links www.uaeforever.com good luck meg sakka
