Hello,
Am in Dubai since 12 years and am ready to help u if you wish.
regarding your question, it depends on what type of job you are doing? what activities you r into, what type of person you are. its not so hard to find people in Dubai.

Himoussa,
I will be working in the field of education and have a variety of interests. Boating (actually all water sports), golf, outdoor activities, cooking, games, getting together with friends for an evening of conversation. Not much into hanging out at the bar scene, but would enjoy meeting friends for cocktails and chatting.
Regards,
Cheryl

Hey there Cheryl. I too am a fan of boating. Mike and I are going to focus on the Marina and getting a boat once we move there and are settled. I would definitely have ya there with me when he's off and flying ! Our move there is temporarily on a hault. The company is awaiting simulator time for the class mike is in ( airline pilot) so we're still here in the states. I too am not that much into the bar scene and not looking to " hook up" ( not saying those that go bar hopping are so no offense ) while there so it would be great to meet you !

Hello Sassy,

I look forward to meeting you. I, too, am married so my activities and behaviors are geared with that in mind. I will be arriving mid-August and my husband will visit from Nov thru Dec, leaving beginning Jan 2009 this year. I have summers off and will return to the states (along the St Lawrence Seaway in upstate NY) during that time. I will give you my personal email...as soon as I figure out how to do it through this forum. What is your anticipated date of arrival? Will you and your husband (children, if any) be arriving together?
Thanks for contacting me,
Cheryl

Hey there Cheryl. My name is Melanie and my husband Mike, is an airline pilot that will be relocating there just as soon as his company MidEx Cargo Airlines has the class all hired and ready for their class in Paris which should happen within the next month. I will arrive with him just as soon as i can get in the country via which ever type of visa it takes. So far from what i have learned from all these forums is that it should take about 3 months. I am going to call the state department when Mike leaves to confirm everything and go from there. If you know all the facts, please feel free to pass them on. Will you be teaching here ? I am a Paramedic and been told those positions are held mainly by filipinos and others from Sri Lanka and Yemen for small pay. I am going to contact the hospital there that is affiliated with Johns Hopinks in hopes of working in the ER there. If not, possibly getting back into Real Estate or setting up my own business for tours and such. I also might begin teaching CPR/AED. I am an instructor but not sure about getting licensure there to teach. I am 44 and my husband is 50. We're coming ourselves. Kids are in college. We have a plan to live on a budget so we can afford to buy a boat and spend all our time off on the water. So far its a plan, we shall see LOL. I hope its ok to give you my email address here. It's Sassyredheademtp@aol.com if that is edited, then you can find me as SASSY and of course i'm a REDHEAD and EMTP (16) letters at aol dot com :)
