Black American Female moving to Abu dhabi in August 2009 ...Any Assistance is welcomed

Hello everyone,
I have been offered a job to teach in Abu Dhabi, the salary seems comparable to what Iget currently in USA and they will pay for my housing which takes off a big burdan. I have a few major questions about the social aspect of living in Abu dhabi that I hoped that someone could help me with, as I would love to improve my understanding of the culture prior to my arrival :
1- In terms of culture how do they treat American women? ( AS I know outside of America we can be seen typically as arrogant and ignorant.)
2- Should I be concern about racisim directed towards me?
3- what type of dress is expected of me outside of work? Please be specefic
4- Is public affection still look downly upon? explain
5- Are their apartments set up with both sexes in the same building or is it separate? Are you allowed to entertain company (meaning have dinner watch tv etc) of the opposite sex in your apartment or does that go against Islamic law?
6- What activities are there to do for fun?
7- Are males and females able to do activities together like go to the movies, beach, skating, bowling etc, or is everything separated by gender?
8- Where do people go to workout, in terms of lifting etc?
9- Are women treated as inferior by men and young boys either at work or in social events?
10- what are typical women roles within the UAE?
11- How are women treated if they go against societal norms?
12- How much does it cost to purchase a typical car?
13- Are dogs allowed? Do they have stores to purchase pet supplies etc?
14- How are girls treated in school?
15- Are you able to survive knowing only english or is arabic a necessity?

I appreicate any help that can be given although I have done alot of research I am always interested in getting knowledge from primary sources or should I say individual who live there currently or who have lived there in the past.
