" I''ve just moved to London and am looking for a few things: Art classes, Ultimate frisbee leagues, and leads on buying second hand cars. Any help/advice would be much appreciated. "

" I don''t know too much about the first two, but as far a used cars, you should look up the American Women''s Clubs. Their monthly newsletters have a classified ads section in the back where members list items they are selling, usually before they head back to the States. At this time of the year, there are some really good deals on cars, since most people have to get rid of them quickly before they leave the country. "

" Hi Claire, What kind of art classes are you interested in? I''m snooping around for some drawing classes as well as painting -- just as a hobby and for fun. A good website to check out is www.hotcourses.com -- they list a ton of courses on hundreds of topics. This is where I''ve found other art classes in the past. Let me know what you find! For cars, try a publication called Auto Trader (I think that''s the name). My British husband used this mag to sell our old car, and we had dozens of calls and it sold within a day! It can be found at a newsagent stand. While I have yet to try my hand at driving in this country, good luck! -christine asbridge "

" My family is relocating to London next month. I am very interested in purchasing some ""used"" items -- like a car, appliances, etc. Where is the American Women''s Club located and how can I find their newsletter? Thanks! "

" I am not sure which part of London you will be moving to, but you will have many choices. Go to http://www.fawco.org to find their member organizations (most AWC''s in and around London are members). However, some groups such as the Thames Valley American Women''s Club, are not members and can be found through links on the different expatriate web sites or a search engine. "

Looks like we have a stuttering problem with all the RE''s! Thanks for the information. I have visited the website and have already emailed some members. I appreciate your time!

" Call the Junior League of London on 020 7499 8159 and order a copy of LIVING IN LONDON: A Practical Guide (£14). It has info on all the things you have asked about (maybe not exactly the frisbee league, but I lent my copy recently to someone so it could be in it!), and more (including contact numbers for the various American women''s clubs).
