Can some of you please share your advice on the safest neighborhoods in London - and those to avoid due to crime? Thanks!

At about 659 square miles, it's an understatement to say that London is huge. Perhaps you could narrow down where you are thinking about at a minimum by north, south, east, west or central.

Gah26,

Thanks so much for your reply. This is for an article I'm putting together for ExpatExchange. So, I guess I need to include some of the safest, popular expat neighborhoods in London for people with kids and best neighborhoods for people without kids. In the "with kids" category, what neighborhoods would you recommend nearby some of the more popular int'l schools that are listed on this page:

Thanks, in advance, for any help that members can provide!!

Betsy,
Here's my limited view: Many, many people seem to move outside central London once they have children, especially if they want to have children in state schools. We are in NE Surrey near Kingston and it is a very family-oriented place. For families not used to living in flats, the leafy suburbs are very welcoming. We also looked NW of London near St Albans which seemed similar.

We spent a short time in Wimbledon when we first moved and it was also crawling with children. It has great parks and while a bit more suburban has a tube line.

Hope this helps!

Hi Betsy - I wonder, what do you know already about London neighbourhoods? There are loads of popular ones, all over the place. It's really hard to narrow down unless you get really specific - north, east, south, west. Best for parks, best for expats who want to be around expats, best for hipsters etc etc etc.
