Moving to London with pets

Hi,
We are a young couple in the process of moving to London with our two cats. We are hoping to rent a flat in either Zone 1 or 2, but does anyone have suggestions for good areas to look at (even outside these Zones) which feature a reasonable commuting time (20-30 minutes) to the city center/financial district? Also, from what we've seen, it's quite difficult to find flats for rent that are okay with pets. Any suggestions on the best way to broach the topic with potential landlords? Or areas that usually have more pet-friendly options? Thank you!
Katie

Hi, I was able to find a place with a pet dossier, I simply wrote a summary of my pets with pics and letters from my vet and neighbors, and I had no problem.

Hello Katie,

As "annadchilonddc" mentioned writing a pet CV is a good idea. Also agree to have the property professionally cleaned when you move out. If you haven't done so already, check the Pet Travel Scheme so that your cats can arrive to the UK without problem.

If by city centre/financial district you mean City of London, you will need to stick with zones 1 and 2 for a 20-30 minute commute. If you mean the Canary Wharf area, where many bank headquarters are, you might find something with zone 3 in the south east of London. "Good area" is very subjective to taste and lifestyle, so I cannot comment on that.

Good luck with your move!
