Relocating to East London, where to live and driving around

Hi all,

I am moving to London in February and would like to ask couple of questions. I already have a job there and know where I'll be working so I have already narrowed down the location where I'd like to live. I will be working at Tottenham Hale station so I would like to live within a 30 minutes drive radius.

What areas would you recommend? Walthamstow, Seven Sisters...? My budget is around 700 pounds a month so I know I am looking at house share with this budget. To give you more details I have been offered a company car with fuel so this expense would be covered. Is driving around this area as much of a nightmare as it is in Central London? Would you still recommend using public transport? I really would prefer to have a commute as short as possible.

Thanks for your help!

I heard Walthamstow is better place to live and is 20 mins from Liverpool St or Oxford Circus.
