Hello I am trying to find out what opportunities there are for US physicians to work as a physician in Uruguay and where to go for listings. Specifically in Ob/Gyn

Hi Regina,
To be able to work as a physician, the person has to bring all the study program of the university and all specialization courses he did. All this documents together with the titles has to be legalized by the corresponding Uruguayan Consulate. This documentation has to be then authenticated in Uruguay by the Foreign Ministry and translated into Spanish by an authorized translator and then presented to the University, together with the local ID, which the person will obtain once he applied for residency.
Good physicians are need all around the world.

Thank you very much for your response. This is helpful. If I decide to move to Uruguay, where would be a good place to begin to look for physician opportunities, specifically in OB/Gyn.

Hi Regina,
not being fluent in Spanish your only chance could be the British Hospital.
