Hi Everyone,

I was born in Rivera. My parents were US Citizens, therefore I am as well. Am I also a citizen of Uruguay or do I need to apply for dual citizenship? Any comments on that process appreciated.

Hello there,

If you were born in Rivera, Uruguay, you are Uruguayan. I guess your US passport states your place of birth as Rivera, Uruguay, and your birth certificate states your birthplace as Uruguay, then you shouldn't have any issue having your Cedula and/or Uruguayan passport issued.
