Anyone from U.S. coming to UY in December?

Both kids have broken their Ipod screens. To get those replaced here is more expensive than a new Ipod. As such, hoping to buy 2 Ipod "for parts" in U.S. & then get them here to get fixed. The labor isn't bad but the screens are impossible & thus, very expensive, to get. I thought about mailing these through customs but figured they would try to tax me on these as if they were new & working. :( If anyone has another idea of fixing these Ipod screens economically, I would appreciate it! ;)

No, I'm not coming anytime soon, perhaps next year, however, I'd like to point out the option of buying the screens from the US, and I'd ship them to you, that way it shouldn't be any import tax or fee. I did replace several iPhone screens (for my own kids' phones) with this company near me in Dumont, NJ. They're called http://itechcellular.com/ and they replace iPhone, iPad, iPod screens while you wait, 15 min or so, for about $80 each. I guess they would sell the parts for something similar, even if they don't install them.
If you want, I live in Englewood, NJ, few miles away from Dumont, I can ask them if they'd sell me the parts you need. If they do, I'd mail them to you.
I know "normal" people in this NYC area wouldn't do any favors to anybody as if they saw the devil, but I would. Obviously, you'd have to send me the costs involved.

Thank you! How incredibly kind! I would appreciate that. I will send you the details of the Ipods & I could pay you via paypal for the fee. This would avoid the potential problem of Customs charging me as if the Ipods being sent in for their replacement parts were new...Mucho gracias!
