Does anyone know where one can buy baby formula? I have seen the liquid type but we are trying to find the powdered. It doesn't matter the brand. I cannot find it at any of the stores. Also, we went to Atlantida today and it is a beautiful town! I think we could live in a studio or 1 bedroom so we are know looking for an annual rental. We have 10 days to find one! Things are coming together slowly and we look forward to meeting you expats one of these days :)

A neighbour who had a premie baby got hers from the pharmacy of Asociacion Espanola where she gets her healthcare.
I assume you have not signed up for healthcare yet? She said it was much cheaper than buying in a Farmacia.

I would try in a Farmacia such as the one by the Disco supermarket, the Tienda Inglesa supermarket or the Farmashop on Calle 11 near the pedway downtown.

I assumed you were still in Atlantida but perhaps you are not!

We are currently in Montevideo staying at a Bed and Breakfast. We went for a day trip to Atlantida to look at the town and try to find a rental. We loved the town and have contacted several property management places. Now we are waiting and hopefully we find something before our stay here is up.

I imagine you and the other locals probably don't like tourist season much. The Inglesa was a zoo! I read the city swells to 30,000 during summer. That is quite a jump from the permanent 6,000 or so.

I PM'd you about a one bedroom apartment in Atlántida. Have you read it?

Well, we don't mind the added people as there are lot more interesting products for sale in the supermarkets during the summer and there are more restaurants to visit and more activities.

The rest of the year, most of the town is almost empty, most restaurants are closed or only open on the weekends, many houses are closed up, the offerings in the supermarket shrink, many small shops close etc.

The summer is really just Christmas until the end of February. This year it is much busier than the last two years due I think to the Argentines being able to take money out of the country again. Maybe they will turn the traffic light back on near Disco which has not been used for several years!
