Could someone explain this story?

Are they really saying that returning Uruguayans who are over 35 years (and occasionally up to 45 years) are being excluded from employment here even if they have the appropriate degrees and qualifications?

the returning group is saying that they find 2 issues, one is the age filtering, (which is for everyone not only the returning folks) and also that it is difficult and time consuming to validate the knowledge and degrees obtained outside the country. They also complained about a 3rd issue which is that they cannot produce proof of the flag oath, which is normally done when we are in the school and they said it is difficult to get a copy.

Thank you. It is sad that citizens returning to their own country with additional knowledge and experience from overseas are not in high demand here.

I agree that it is sad, but not only this, I have seen Uruguayans returning that are discriminated because they decided to leave, they say "you shouldn't have left in the first place". It is also sad that they filter by age, without even know what good their are doing for their companies. Is there any good for the company to hire a 25 year old person instead of a 45 year old person? It is all cultural and it is not going to change.

This is something quite easy to explain. Along Uruguayan history every time there was a crisis lots of people migrated to Europe US and Australia. This does note mean that inbetween there was no migration, but much less. The last crises in 2002 also had the same consecuences, but with a left coalition getting politically stronger and starting to process this fact as a motive to get voted. They won the elections in 2004 and since 2005 they are government with an incredible intenational plus with high prices for what Uruguay produces since 2003 and a boom in export. This made the country grow and José Mujica started a campaign to make Uruguayans return offering help and credits in a country where there was plenty of work. So hundreds of families returned aThis is the true story.

But to continue this story I have to say, that most of the peolople who followed Pepe Mujica's promises, left again back from where they came. They noticed that Uruguay became a very expensive country, but they also noticed that same haven't been followed by the sallaries. So those who came back from escaping the Spanish crisis, decided to return to the crisis in Spain, escaping from the paradise of the Frente Amplio, where with less money they could live much better. Lots of Uruguayan who returned left again.
