Allergy Season?

Here in N.Ontario, the trees (poplar, spruce, birch, and pine) are pollenating, the flowers are blooming and the grass is coming into head, all within about the same 3-4 weeks. Lots of people are suffering from runny noses, sneezing and itchy eyes. Our dramatic seasonal changes lead to a compressed time of very high pollen counts. The lake in front of my house often gets a yellow scum on it from pollen, and cars and outside furniture are covered with it.

Is there an allergy season in Uruguay? What are the most common allergens that seasonally flare up? Will I be able to get common antihistamines over the counter?

I had some allergies in the US and I don't seem to have any here. So don't go by me but there's some anecdotal evidence. I suppose it depends on whether you are close to what you are allergic to. I must not be.

i , too, had allergies in southern California,to plants, and do not have them in URuguay. BUT there is a lot of mold and mildew here. So I am having to be careful of that, due to allergic reactions.
