Can you please advise what types of globes are used in Uruguay ? We want to bring some of our light and lamp fittings with us but not sure the globe types. In south Africa we have MANY types. Do they have large or small screw in there, or large or small bayonet type ???

Standard "Edison" screw base are most common, candelabra base too. Your lamps should work fine.

You should also consider something like a volt meter to test if circuits are live for mounted lights. For a lamp, I would unplug it first. Polarized plugs?
What are they ;-}?
Replacing a lightbulb may give you a bit of a surprise if you are grounded. I've had a few tingles when I didn't expect them, and our house has good wiring but not necessarily good grounding.

Type "Electrical" into the search feature. One result is "Younger Family Thinking of Expatriating...So Many Questions", wherein I have a long post on the subject. Getting a voltmeter is good advice. I brought my old, trusty, Fluke 77 voltmeter with me. I also brought a non-contact voltage sensing device, that makes a sound when brought near a live wire and is cheap. Both can be types of devices purchased here too. I spent most of today reworking the electrical service on the chacra.....I love Uruguay, but I have to shake my head sometimes!
