Can someone tell me about any general experiences they had in Caracas Venezuela? Any info. from transportation to social activities would be very helpful.

" Hi S. Irvine, I have been living in Caracas for 2 months now....so I can offer you a bit of information about the city. I find that the public transportation is reliable and in most cases comfortable. I use it everyday. There is a fast and clean metro and metro bus. There are also caminoneticas that make a loop around certain neighborhood picking people up along the way and take them to the metro. Of course there are taxis. One of the few cheap things in Caracas is the public transportation. As for social activities...I am still looking. People here go to the commerical centers, movies and eat for entertainment. I have heard that there are organizations that lead trips up the Avila Mountain. I m still discovering more. Hope this information is helpful. h.paster "

If you''re a football fan Cafe Lattico in Altamira has Sunday & Monday football on Satellite. Different games are showing on various TV''s and the staff is great.
