Hi,
I hope this post finds you all well and safe. I hope you do not mind me posting on your site for advice about the situation in Venezuela due to the heavy rains and whether it is advisable to continue my trip to your country (arrive 15th December, stay for 1 month).
It is tough to gauge from the UK just how serious the situation is and whether I should cancel the trip (are the available beds in hotels needed for people who have lost their homes?), or continue but choose my locations carefully. We have read that the road from the airport to Caracas has been blocked by a landslide - but have not read yet that it has been cleared. Also are there bus services still running out from Caracas?
We had planned to travel immediately out of Caracas, to Merida, Los Llanos, Coro, then back to Caracas via the beaches and National Parks. Guessing this route will need to be revised since these locations are in the states that have been worst hit. If you did recommend that we continued with our trip, which states would you advise to travel?
Any advise would be fantastic to receive
