Hello, My name is Adam (friends call me pope), and im a 27 yr old american born male. I have lived from suburban houses, to low income project housings, abandoned condemned homes, to tents at the beach and all with a smile on my face. But iam troubled, you see i am aware that i live in a dangerous country and i want no part of it. Iam god fearing, and a lover of righteousness, Im afraid that god will punish me and leave me for being born in america. I have no money but i understand that you dont need money in order to live or travel, our ancenstors didnt have $ but still they lived and traveled. I want to go to another country (Venezuela) but i have no car or license. how should i go about this pilgrimage how do i escape this place before they wont let us leave? what do i do?? im afraid and without an answer

What type of education have you? What training? If you think the US is dangerous perhaps you should think of another destination besides Ven. In order to live here permanently you need to PROVE you have an income of $1200 per month or you need to leave the country every 90 days. What type of area were you thinking of going to? Are you looking to just live off the land or do you want to be a contributing member of a community? How's your Spanish?

I have 2 certificates in medical billing and coding. I would prefer to work wherever i end up at. My spanish isnt so good, although i understand when someones speaking to me in spanish (sort of) but i cant put together a sentence very well. But i grew up in a mexican neighbrohood and i think spanish wouldnt be difficult for me to learn. I just dont want to be here, id rather be anywhere else.

study now before you move to a Spanish speaking country!
Without fluent Spanish you'll never work in your field of study. Whatever you work at you won't earn much here the average wage is less than $300 (equivalent) per month. But you need to get LUCKY to find a job, the unemployment is much higher than in the States. And the Gov't only GIVES to Venezuelans, not Imperialist Yanquis!

whether you believe you are an Imperialist Yanqui or not, because you are from the US you will be instantly perceived as one, because you carry a US passport and you don't speak Spanish. You WILL be type-cast! The rules are different here! Males are MACHO and they will take from those whom they perceive to be better off. I know a kid from Trinidad who has nothing to speak of and even he has been robbed 3 times, at last count. I am a retiree, I don't go out after dark, I live in and own my own condo so I am surrounded by neighbors, some of whom are friendly and others are not. I am on the board of the building and have worked very hard to improve the conditions of the the building and there still have been messages scrawled on the walls and floors "*&# gringa". Even in a "nice" building in a "nice" area there are uneducated rude people. How thick is your hide? How short is your fuse? if you're a fighter you won't last long, they'll attack in groups. I had never been mugged before I moved here and have been twice!

All that being said I LOVE it here!! I love most of the people I meet. They are kind and helpful, and correct my poor language skills, tho for the most part I can communicate using English syntax, I am working hard on not doing that! It's a shame I didn't know another romance language first.

Where else have you considered going? If you're looking for a more peaceful environment try an Asian culture, Laos, Cambodia and Viet Nam are all wonderful places, Bali, Indonesia is the most tranquil place I have ever been to.

Just remember propaganda is a government's way of keeping people "in line" and if you're looking to escape government interference Ven is NOT the place to come to!!
