I've recently heard that Chavez is offering the above to anybody who will (third-hand recreation of description here) live in Venezuela 6 months before voting for him in the next election. Or live there 6 months every year?

Can't find anything definite about it online.

There are so much crap being said from both parts. We need to take info and digest it according to our own degree of inteligence and background. A taxi driver here told me that Chavez is bringing thousands of Chinese people and giving them cedulas so they can vote....Years ago they said the same about Carlos A. Perez with people form the Dominican Republic....I have never come across a Dominican here in Vzla....so you see. This is election year and the mudslinging just began....and we shall sit and enjoy it.

This came from a Venezuelan friend, and just because you have a Cedula doesn't mean you can vote! I have my Residency after 5 years and I can neither vote nor get a passport for another 5 years!!!
