6 hour layover

My wife and I are flying into Caracas on a journey from Buenos Aires to Madrid. We have a 6 hour layover and would like to at least get a feel for the city. Is it possible to get into town from the airport and maybe go to the art museum, eat lunch and back to the airport, safely, in that amount of time.

And what would be the best way to do that?

Tom, do NOT, I repeat, do NOT leave the airport to go sight seeing!!!! Taxis have been robbed at gunpoint on the road leading to and from the airport!! There are marches and other activities that hinder traffic so there would be no guarantee that you'd get back to the airport in time to make your connecting flight!!! FORGET leaving the airport for ANY reason!!
