Hi! I think that buying a farm in Venezuela could be an opportunity for foreighners because the land could be very cheap. But I really suggest you to find a local in whom you trust to make the negotiation. If not the seller could take advantage of you... In the same way with change of currency. Is not difficult to find buyers for US dolars, I suggest to check DAILY www.dolartoday.com where you will find an approximate of the exchange rate in the black market, remember that you may be offered a little less depending on the quantity and conditions of the sale. Hope my answer will help you!

there are now several states that have forbidden the sale of property, and cars & trucks! You will also need a Venezuelan partner to buy anything unless you already have a Cedula (national ID card). Where are you thinking of buying? There are no guarantees that the property will remain yours if the gov't wants it for any reason. I have been in the country for over 10 years and would not recommend buying anything right now, there may be a civil war in the not to distant future!! WAIT!
